Structural properties of generalised Planck distributions

چکیده

Abstract A family of generalised Planck (GP) laws is defined and its structural properties explored. Sometimes subject to parameter restrictions, a GP law randomly scaled gamma law; it arises as the equilibrium perturbed version Feller mean reverting diffusion; density functions can be decreasing, unimodal or bimodal; infinitely divisible. It argued that not convolution. Characterisations are obtained in terms invariance under random contraction weighted related law. The particular instance from recursion suggested by genetic mutation-selection balance model. Some divisible exhibited.

Unintegrated generalised parton distributions

We show how the generalised (or skewed) parton distributions of the proton,H(x, ξ; k t , μ ), unintegrated over the partonic transverse momenta, can be calculated from the known conventional parton distributions, q(x, μ) and g(x, μ), for small values of the skewedness parameter ξ. We demonstrate the procedure by numerically evaluating the skewed unintegrated gluon. We also provide a simple appr...

Generalised Complex Geometry and the Planck Cone

Complex geometry and symplectic geometry are mirrors in string theory. The recently developed generalised complex geometry interpolates between the two of them. On the other hand, the classical and quantum mechanics of a finite number of degrees of freedom are respectively described by a symplectic structure and a complex structure on classical phase space. In this letter we analyse the role pl...

Structural Properties of the Generalized Dirichlet Distributions

We study the general structure of the generalized Dirichlet distributions, deriving general formulas for the marginal and conditional probability density functions of those distributions. We develop the multivariate reverse rule properties of these distributions, apply those properties to derive probability inequalities, and derive stochastic representations and orderings for the distributions....

Comparison and numerical treatment of generalised Nernst-Planck models

In its most widespread, classical formulation, the Nernst–Planck– Poisson system for ion transport in electrolytes fails to take into account finite ion sizes. As a consequence, it predicts unphysically high ion concentrations near electrode surfaces. Historical and recent approaches to an approriate modification of the model are able to fix this problem. Several appropriate formulations are co...

Continuity Properties and Infinite Divisibility of Stationary Distributions of Some Generalised Ornstein-uhlenbeck Processes

Properties of the law μ of the integral ∫∞ 0 c −Nt− dYt are studied, where c > 1 and {(Nt, Yt), t ≥ 0} is a bivariate Lévy process such that {Nt} and {Yt} are Poisson processes with parameters a and b, respectively. This is the stationary distribution of some generalised Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. The law μ is parametrised by c, q and r, where p = 1−q−r, q, and r are the normalised Lévy measur...
